Leo New Moon Solar Eclipse

On Wednesday, August 12, 2026 the Leo full solar eclipse will occur at 11:37 AM MDT. 

This eclipse will be visible over Spain, Portugal, United Kingdom, Greenland, Iceland and Russia.

Solar eclipses occur when the moon passes between the Earth and Sun, at the time of the New Moon when the Moon is close to the Nodal axis.

This is a south node eclipse and is associated with moving away from something or

letting go.

Later in August during the Pisces Full Moon a partial Lunar eclipse will occur. This will be a north node eclipse associated with moving toward something. 

In ancient times eclipses were seen as omens of great change. Sudden shifts that jump us back onto our path of fate / destiny. 

The last time we had a Leo south node eclipse was February 2009. Thinking back to that time and the theme of the house location of Leo in your natal chart will give you an idea of what fate/destiny you are working with. 

The line up in Leo during this eclipse is intense. Mercury (communication) 4°,
