The Journey of the Lunar Nodes "A Major Shift Is Taking Place"

On July 26, 2026 the lunar nodes will change signs. Leaving Pisces/Virgo and entering Aquarius/Leo. Unlike the planets that move clockwise around the zodiac wheel the lunar nodes move counterclockwise or retrograde pattern.

The lunar nodes are not objects. They are points in space. Specifically  the point where the moon rotating around the Earth and the Earth rotating around the Sun meet. This is called the ecliptic. 

In Vedic astrology they are referred to as Rahu and Katu. The head and tail of the snake/dragon.

They change signs every 18 mont

hs and make a complete rotation around the zodiac every 19 years.

Known as the karmic axis with the north node, the ascending node going from south to north and the south node, 

the descending node moving from north to south. The ascending node signifies hunger/desire and increase. While the south node signifies catharsis and release. The south node is what we were in past lives or yesterday in the past of this life. Where as the north node is what we should be today or tomorrow. The past and the future!

When you look at your birth chart you can determine the nature of your soul's journey by what house and sign they occupy.

We began the current 19 year cycle around the zodiac January 11, 2025 when the lunar nodes entered Pisces/Virgo. On July 26, 2026 they enter Aquarius/Leo.

We will have a new moon solar eclipse at 20° Leo on August 12, 2026 and a full moon lunar eclipse at 4° Pisces on the 27th of August.

A solar eclipse occurs when a new moon appears within  13° of one of the nodes. A lunar eclipse occurs when a full moon is within 13° of one of the nodes.

The themes around the August eclipses will concern the releasing of the egocentric shadow of Leo. This is where the spot light on the individual for applause will be released and we embrace the service we can offer to our community or the collective.

Leadership will change from a top down model to a shared power structure in a community circle. We will be going from hierarchy to a circle!

This is about the evolution of the soul! It's a radical change from sleepy, dreamy Pisces to the innovative, lightening fast change of Aquarius ruled by Uranus.

The last time we experienced the Aquarius/Leo cycle was December 2007-August 2009.

Reflect back to that time period:

• Identify what major events took place? 

• What energy patterns have continued?

As the nodes shift this time into Aquarius/Leo you can let go of the energy patterns that no longer serve you.

Create a letting go ceremony using the elements, earth, air, fire, water. Burn it, bury it, put it in water or throw it to the wind. I prefer burning for transformation.

Embrace your gifts and talents and offer them as service to the collective. Make a list and place it on your altar. Read it everyday as you surrender to your purpose.
