Who is This Dude Called Chiron & Why is He Important?

Chiron is known as the "wounded healer" and is classified as a "centaur" because of his eccentric orbit and duel comet/asteroid nature.

Chiron's story is taken from Greek mythology. His father was Titian (Saturn) and his mother was a water nymph Philyra. She abandoned him because of his appearance as a centaur, half horse and half man. Therefore the first wound is "abandonment".

Toward the end of his life he was wounded with a poisonous arrow accidently shot by Hercules.  Because he was immortal he didn't die, but he was in constant pain. He traded his immortality for the release of unbearable pain.

He was a great healer, astrologer, respected oracle, teacher, tutor, mystic and philosopher.

Chiron teaches us we can turn our pain and struggle into power and wisdom. He represents the constant struggle humans have between being primal (animal) and intellectual.

Chiron orbits between Saturn and Uranus. Coined the "Rainbow Bridge" between the inner and outer planets. This is symbolic of the journey that the Soul takes while moving through being human and expanded spiritual states of consciousness and different dimensions.

Chiron's position in the birth chart by sign, house, and aspect to the Sun, Moon and Ascendant can indicate a powerful healer.

By healing our deepest wounds we discover our fullest potential. We become an alchemist,  changing pain into power. Chiron teaches us to heal through action.

He is currently in Aries, the first sign of the zodiac.  Know for the individual and the "I Am" principal. He first dipped into Aries in 2018 April - September.  Went retrograde and re-entered Aries in February 2019. He has resided there for the past 8 years, while we have individually  and collectively been experiencing "identity crisis".

On June 19, 2026 he moves into Taurus the home of resources.

Chiron's first wound was abandonment. "Parental rejection wound - you are not ok as you are!"

Are you struggling with feeling invisible, unimportant or lacking the right to take space in the world? You can look to your birth chart to discover the specifics of the wound you carry.

Chiron's passage through Aries has pushed us to claim "who we are"! Giving us the opportunity to "heal" what is standing in the way of expressing our true identity. And claiming our power.

Chiron will go retrograde August 3rd 2026 and re-enter Aries September 19th 2026. He will remain in Aries until he fully enters Taurus April 14th 2027.

The last few months of Chiron in Aries gives us the opportunity to do the last needed work to embrace our personal power.

This is true for our personal identity, as well as, our collective identity as a community of citizens.

We have been experiencing a collective wound of "loss of identity" and abandonment by our leaders and government structure!

The "No Kings" march yesterday was a huge step collectively to begin healing the wound by standing together, united with one voice!

As Chiron moves into Taurus the wound will concern resources, safety and security, as well as, embodying our connection with Mother Earth. We will also be challenged with how to be worthy to receive the gifts from Mother Earth.

At the signing of the declaration of independence for the United States of America Chiron was in Pisces. A water sign representing mysticism, spiritual depth, and dreaming. The founding fathers dreamed of a society of equality, justice, freedom and happiness for all.

Chiron was discovered in 1977. At the time divination, mysticism and the healing arts were becoming popular in the collective culture.

Chiron was a renowned astrologer, maybe the first. I believe his recent journey through Pisces and now Aries has ignited the current surge of interest in astrology. And is an opportunity to reignite the dream!

Chiron's symbol is a key. Let's use the key to open up the portal to unite our purpose for peace, safety and security for all citizens.
